STEFANOVIC

We will do everything to find the killers of Ognjanovic

Serbian Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said that the MUP is doing everything to find the killers of lawyer Dragoslav Ognjanovic.

Stefanovic said that the MUP (Ministry of Interior) of Serbia is undertaking absolutely everything within its jurisdiction and is making every effort to find the perpetrators and those who ordered the murder of the lawyer as soon as possible.

Stefanovic also supported the participation of the MUP in a permanent body that will monitor activities related to the status of lawyers and all cases of assaults on lawyers, whose formation was proposed by the chairs of bar associations, the MUP said.

Stefanovic met today with the chairmen of the Bar Association of Serbia and the Bar Association of Belgrade Viktor Gostiljac and Yugoslav Tintor with whom he discussed steps to improve the position of lawyers in Serbia and their greater security, with particular reference to the recent killing of lawyer Dragoslav Ognjanovic.

The participants of the meeting agreed on the continuation of all MUP and Bar Association activities that will lead to closer cooperation between these institutions, which will contribute to a more efficient system of justice in the country and greater security of all citizens of Serbia.
