KURTI AND MUSTAFA SKIRMISH

Stuck on the division of ministries

The first cracks have emerged in relations between the two strongest parties, just nine days after the snap parliamentary elections in Kosovo.

They stuck on the distribution of ministries in the future government.

According to the Koha Ditore, Isa Mustafa’sDemocratic League of Kosovo (LDK), that won 5,000 votes less than the Vetevendosje party, is demanding to take four ministries more than the Albin Kurti’s movement, if he is to be prime minister.

More precisely, as the LDK envisioned, such a government would have seven of their ministers, three from the Vetevendosje, while Serbs and other national minority representativeswould have one ministry each.

Kurti’s movement, however, in negotiations to form a government requests that both parties have five ministries, out of a total of 12.

According to preliminary results, Vetevendosjewon 25.5 percent of the total turnout in the October 6 elections, while the LDK gained 24.8 percent.
