New victim of the virus in BiH, a total of 35 deaths

One Covid-19 patient died in the RepublikaSrpska in the last 24 hours. 72-year-old patient with a confirmed presence of the coronavirus has died at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases of the University Clinical Center (UKC) in Banjaluka.

He has had multiple chronic illnesses and has been in treatment since March 28, UKC said.

So far, 13 people infected with coronavirus have died in the RepublikaSrpska, and the total number of victims in BiH has increased to 35.

Total of 841 people have been infected with the virus in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 95 have recovered from the disease.

In the past 24 hours, 17 new patients were registered in the RepublikaSrpska (RS), ten from Banja Luka, three from Laktasi, two from Mrkonjic Grad, and one each from Prnjavor and Eastern Ilidza.

One doctor was also infected.

RS Health Minister AlenSeranic said it was mostly family contacts or direct contacts with a person who had previously been infected, but there were several patients who don’t know the source of their infection.

"This is precisely why we should not relax and start relaxation any public health measures," Seranic said.

There are 46 people with severe clinical picture in the Covid ward at the UKC Banjaluka, and four on the respirators.

So far, 3,734 tests for the new virus have been performed in the RS.
