PAVICEVIC SAYS

Satisfied, but we expect even higher salaries

Education Union President Zvonko Pavicevic says in a statement to Portal RTCG that he is pleased with the announced salary increase in education, but that the long-term goal aims to increase the wages in that sector even more.

Minister of Education Damir Sehovic told TVCG that the employees in education should receive higher salaries from the next year, in line with the Law on Public Sector Wages.
Pavicevic says that the announcement is a reality and what has been agreed at this time.
"Our long-term goal is a higher salary increase, but at the moment, this is a reality," Pavicevic said.
He states that negotiations on the harmonization of the collective agreement with the Law on Salaries in the public sector mark the beginning of the status improvement of the employees in education sector.
"The status of educators is still far from what we would like and what the educated workers deserve," Pavicevic said.
He could not say how much the salaries of educators would be increased, after the announced alignment with the law.
