HELICOPTERS ARRIVED

Markovic: We invested in the safety of the citisens

Two brand new multi-purpose helicopters Bell 412 Epi, intended for the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, arrived in Montenegro today. As stated by the Government, new aircrafts represent the most important equipment of our Army ever since we regained independence, and confirm Montenegro’s determination to strengthen its capacities within NATO.

“On the occasion of NATO accession, we said that, in the group of the most developed and most powerful, we would be responsible member and strengthen the capacities of our Army in accordance with the needs of collective responsibility. We know that through such approach we are showing responsibility for the comfort and safety of our citizens, but also of our investors, tourists and anybody who comes to visit Montenegro for whatever reason,” said the Prime Minister Dusko Markovic.

As he said, the cost of three modern helicopters amounted to 30 million EUR. The aircrafts will be engaged in the searching and rescue missions, as well as for the various kinds of medical evacuations, while they will improve emergancy response capaties, as well as the level of security of tourists in Montenegro.

"Therefore, we have invested in ourselves and the security of our citizens," the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister also reminded of the already visible advantages and benefits of Montenegro's NATO membership.

The Prime Minister said that the reality is that the protection of the state sovereignty and integrity of the Montenegrin territory is guaranteed by the most powerful and the most developed countries of today, and that foreign investments and the number of tourists from these countries are growing, and it does not cost our citizens even one euro.

"For the cost of 70 cents per capita per year we have shown the world that Montenegro is a safe investment and tourist destination. And safety and security, more investments and tourists - mean better jobs for our citizens, better placement of products and long-term better quality of life," Prime Minister Dusko Markovic said.
