Milic in the embassy, the position of Serbia in the coming days

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Montenegro Zoran Bingulac, at the consultations in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, confirmed that Branka Milic is in the embassy of Serbia, adding that competent authorities were immediately informed after she had arrived.

He said that the official position and reaction of the Republic of Serbia can be expected in the coming days.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro has invited Serbian Ambassador Zoran Bingulac to consultations and requested the official position of the Republic of Serbia on the retention of Branka Milic in the Embassy of that country in Podgorica.

They recall, Milic is charged with attempting a terrorist attack on the day of parliamentary elections on October 16, 2016.

"State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Jankovic, told at the meeting that any action that affects the court proceedings means violation of the principles of international law, as well as diplomatic practices between countries that have regulated diplomatic relations, and asked for an urgent response from the Serbian side,‘' it was said in the statement.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Montenegro Zoran Bingulac confirmed that Milic was in the embassy premises of Serbia and that the competent authorities of that state were informed immediately upon her arrival.

"He stressed that the Serbian side is familiar with the legal procedure and obligations that must be respected in the mentioned case, and that the official position and reaction of the Republic of Serbia can be expected within the next few days," it was concluded in the statement.
