MUGOSA TRIAL

Witnesses stick to their earlier statements

Four witnesses gave their testimonies at the main hearing of the trial of former mayor of Podgorica, Miomir Mugosa, accused of abuse of office in the Carine case.

At the next hearing, scheduled for May 30, five witnesses will testify in the Podgorica High Court.

At today's hearing, Nada Mugosa, Dragica Vidic, Dusko Vojinovic and Marko Radunovic testified, and they did not change statements they made before the special prosecutor in 2017.

The prosecutor, defense lawyers and Judge Vesna Pean did not have additional questions for Nada Mugosa and Vojinovic.
In the Carine case, Miomir Mugosa has been accused of damaging city's budget by 6.7 million euros.
Due to the lack of evidence against the former first man of Podgorica, the prosecution extended the investigation, and then the indictment, in the midst of the trial.
Miomir Mugosa is charged with abusing the office in 2007 by allowing the sale of valuable land of 15.2 thousand square meters at the Stari Aerodrom, without the decision of the local parliament.
