The state subsidizes salaries with 60 million

The state will subsidize salaries in the private sector with more than 60 million euros, of which 51 million have been paid so far, said State Secretary to the Ministry of Economy Milan Srzentic.

Srzentic explained in the TVCG morning program that the help from May to

September was used by more than 15,000 businessmen, who were paid 51 million euros. He also reminded that the Government, at the proposal of the Ministry of Economy, decided last week to extend the Wage Subsidy Program for another two months.

He also stated that about 73,000 employees were in some way a beneficiaries of Government support in one or more months.

"We are talking about two thirds of the real sector that have been beneficiaries of government support in the previous six months. A total of 51 million euros was paid out and with the planned funds for another two months that number will exceed 60 million euros, for more than 15,000 business entities", said Srzentic.

He also said that it could not solve all the problems of the economy, as well as that no one expected that, but that this assistance helped the businessmen to survive.

"The support was not small, it was significant, whether it was enough to solve all the accumulated problems at the moment, it certainly was not, and whether it was significant, it certainly was,’’ said Srzentic, calling on businessmen to use all types of support available until the end of the year.

"The government has indeed allocated significant funds to remedy the consequences of this crisis. We must all fight together for survival,"Srzentic said.

He also understands the new concern of our caterers and businessmen due to the ban on work in certain municipalities.

"This crisis definitely does not affect only one segment of business. Apart from the problem of income there are also problems with liquidity, fixed operational costs, placement, collection of receivables. My opinion is that the set of support of the Government was also multidimensional in a way to respond to all needs", stated Srzentic.
