The government has not decided yet on concessions for the airports

The government has not presented yet to the Board of Directors of the Airport any strict decision related to leasing our airports, said the president of the Board of Directors Nebojsa Djokovic in the show Link. He pointed out that leasing would be good because of the funds that would flow into the state budget but that now the price would not be as before 2019 but lower, and that after the pandemic Airports have a chance to recover and be useful to the state.

Djokovic reiterated that there are several companies interested in leasing the airport.

"We can always look at this problem from two aspects, from the benefits obtained by the inflow of funds into the state budget to measuring whether our airports could cope with some investments that are not very large, given that we are in the corona virus time and that prices have fallen. Whether it pays to enter or not considering that we could not achieve a price that was before 2019. This problem must be well considered and evaluated," Djokovic said.

He pointed out that the board is ready for every variant.

"It is true that we need funds to modernize our airports, to get certificates, to get modern equipment, more comfortable terminals, uninterrupted traffic. On the other hand, if the situation after the corona virus would stabilize, revenues would increase and Airports could invest on their own in a few years, without state investment. So I would leave it to the Government and the experts to agree on the model," Djokovic said.

He says that there is a third model according to which one of the large foreign companies would be allowed to enter and own 49% of the property, so that their management would tomorrow help the Airports to develop.

Djokovic adds that the Board came at the time of the corona virus when air traffic was reduced to a minimum, and that 2020 was the worst.
