Complete the Prosecutorial Council as soon as possible

State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice, Human and Minority Rights Boris Maric said that the Prosecutorial Council should be completed as soon as possible, and appealed to members of the Montenegrin Parliament to take a more responsible approach to the issue and seriously consider possible consequences in the entire judiciary.

He announced that the public debate on the Draft Law on Origin of Property will begin in the next ten days.

"Everything points to the fact - from technical, operational, systemic to essential, and that is the qualitative improvement of the Prosecutor's Office and the creation of conditions to deliver the necessary results - that there is a need to constitute a complete Prosecutorial Council as soon as possible," Maric told Radio Montenegro.

He hopes that the deputies will enter the negotiation process on this issue very soon: "They must approach this issue more responsibly, they must consider the possible consequences in the entire judicial system, including the situation in the Judicial Council because we can relatively quickly get into a situation where we also have a dysfunctional Judicial Council, we have a problem in the Constitutional Court ... “.
