ROVCANIN

There is no increase of electricity price until the end of the year

Electricity price will not increase until the end of year, and most likely , in the first quarter of next year, director of the Electric Power Industry of Montenegro Nikola Rovcanin says in the morning program of TVCG.

He explains that EPCG enables the citizens five times cheaper electricity than it is on the stock exchange and believes that this can be maintained until the end of the year, as well as a discount for regular payers.

"At this moment, there will be no increase in electricity prices. When we talk about the plans for the first quarter of next year, if everything we have defined is realized, there will be no price increase. I can't say that for certain economic entities ", he says and explains that it specifically refers to KAP because for them the current price is not  sustainable.

Montenegro had electricity imports in August despite high prices.

"It was a big blow for our budget, but in any case, in relation to the stock exchange, we give the citizens up to 5 times cheeper electricity ," the director of EPCG points out.

He believes that such a situation can be maintained until the end of the year.

"I have said that there will be no problems and fears until the end of the year and in the following period, depending on how ready we will be and our production facilities are operational. We expect favorable hydrological conditions by the end of the year that will  fill the accumulations which are below the business plan but, having in mind the climate variation, we hope that everything will be compensated ", said Rovcanin.

He believes that despite the energy crisis, they will be in position to maintain the discounts they gave and promised to the citizens by the end of the year.

"I expect that we will deliver electricity without any problems, and at this moment I can say that there will be no restrictions and suspensions," Rovcanin adds.
