FUEL PRICES

Kekovic: If the Government does not react, the citizens must

The Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro (USSCG) is concerned about fuel prices. Secretary General Srdja Kekovic called on the Government to react urgently, because, as he said, the prices of goods and services are growing uncontrollably. If the government does not react, he says, the citizens will have to.

We remind you that fuel prices in Montenegro today rose for the 14th time in 10 months, so that gasoline today reached a record € 1.5, and diesel € 1.34. Commenting on the constant growth of fuel prices, Kekovic, as a guest in the Morning Program of the Television of Montenegro, said that the situation was worrying.

"It is worrying and the government needs to react urgently, because we not only have a problem with the price of fuel, but also the prices of goods and services that have been raging lately. Worst of all, we have a problem on the political scene where we have long-lasting frictions. If this situation lasts, I also worry about social peace, because all of us citizens who are waiting for a concrete step by the Government and for something to happen after the change on August 30 last year, have a certain limit of patience," Kekovic said.

If the Government does not react, as he points out, the citizens must.

"If the Government and the Assembly do not do their job properly, then all of us citizens are obliged to do something to warn them of such behavior," Kekovic said.

He called on the government to take urgent measures.

"In such situations, one must react promptly. Over 20,000 people lost their jobs. We expect the Government to behave responsibly," Kekovic points out.
