A case was formed regarding Thaci's allegations

A case has been formed in the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT)regarding the allegations of the Albanian oil tycoon Rezart Thaci, and an investigation is underway, the RTCG Portal was informed.

As we have written before, Thaci mentioned Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic in the context of international money laundering and suspicious payments in connection with Italian citizens Francesco Zummo and Fabio Petruccelli.

"It is not possible to provide more information and data in order to protect the interests of the criminal procedure," it is stated in the answer sent to the Public Service portal by the special prosecutor Sanja Jovicevic.

A court in Palermo is investigating whether Thaci and several Italian citizens laundered more than 22 million euros.

"When we heard that an Albanian businessman was mentioned, we asked our colleagues from Italy to send us the verdict of the court in Palermo. Of course, I was focused on Albania since Rezart Thaci and other people are very famous in Albania. The bank of Milo Djukanovic's brother and the trip from Tirana to Podgorica and back are also mentioned. This is a court decision, and I am still waiting for the whole document on this case, because it mentions many influential people from Albania, as well as Montenegro ", says for TVCG the Albanian journalist Timi Samardziu, who was the first to get information about this case.

The First Bank denied media allegations that, as they say, harm its shareholders.

It should be reminded that the Public Service portal has not yet received an answer from the Cabinet of President Milo Djukanovic to the question whether Italian investigators contacted him or his legal representatives in connection with this case.

Earlier, the Cabinet reacted to the allegations of the Albanian media and said that it was about, as they say, the continuity of lies and deception.
