GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCED

Wage growth in healthcare up to 35%

The salaries of healthcare employees would be on average up to 35% higher from January 1 next year, it was announced at the press conference of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance.

As it was specified, salaries would grow on two bases, based on the change in tax burden on salaries and by additional 12.5 percent through the increase of the wage coefficient for medical staff.

"The current average salary for a medical staff of €589 will be increased to €794. So the nominal average increase for medical staff will be €205, which is 35% on average. Average net salary of non-medical staff is €550, while when increased it will amount to €693. So the nominal increase is €142.6 euros or 25.9 %" it was announced at the press conference.

Cumulatively, as it was announced, the salaries of both medical and non-medical staff will be nominally increased by an average of about €174 or about 30.5%.

A larger increase, as it was announced, will have employees with lower coefficients. The nurses, who received a net salary of €412.6, will now receive €578.76. The salary of a nurse with a university degree will be increased by 37.9 %, ie her salary will be nominally increased by €194. Salaries of doctors of medicine, dentistry, graduate pharmacists, and similar professions will nominally increase by €208.5, or 32.3%. When it comes to specialist jobs, where the salary is €789, after the increase it will be €1,032, ie the percentage of salary will be higher by 30.8 %. Salaries in specific areas of expertise will be increased to €1,135, which is €278 more than the current salary, or 32.4 %.
