DIASPORA SENDS 258 MILLION EUROS

Montenegrins working abroad has sent almost 258 million euros to their families, during 11 months of last year.

The amount of money entering Montenegro through banking channel is increased compared to last year by almost 11 percent, it is announced from Central Bank of Montenegro (CBM) to daily Pobjeda.       

"During the eleven months of 2012. flow of money, in the form of compensation of employees, workers' compensation, as well as various forms of inheritance, gift and transfer to Montenegro amounted to 257.8 million euros, or 10.7 percent more than in the same period of 2011.", it is told from Central Bank.

Most of the money in our country comes from Serbia, Italy, Germany, Greece and the UK.

How much money coming to Montenegro by the banking system can not be accurately determined.

"Some of the money comes into Montenegro by so-called ‘’Informal channels’’. Assessment for that part of funds will be done," announces the Central Bank.
