KRIVOKAPIC IN ZAGREB

Croatia will not inhibit Montenegro for Prevlaka

Croatian President Ivo Josipovic said that the open question of Prevlaka will not affect the relations between Croatia, as a member of the European Union, and Montenegro.

President of the Assembly Ranko Krivokapic has had talks with Josipovic in Zagreb. Josipovic said Croatia would not conditioned Montenegro on its European path, as was the case in relations between Slovenia - Croatia.

Krivokapic said that the two sides have shown an understanding regarding the issue of Prevlaka, that can be solved by international arbitration.

Krivokapic previously met with Croatian counterpart Josip Leko. Krivokapic and  Leko concluded that relations between the two countries are getting better, announcing the improved cooperation at the level of the parliaments.

“Croatia is very willing to help Montenegro in the European integration,'' Leko said.

Krivokapic congratulated Croatia on the fact that this country would become a member of the European Union on July 1st  and said it was the inspiration for Montenegro and the region as well.

President of the Montenegrin Parliament also met with Croatia Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic.

Krivokapic will also have talks with Daniel Mondekar, President of the European Integration Committee of the Croatian Parliament, and its members as well as with the representatives of the National Community of Montenegrins in Croatia.
