Europe is turning its clock hands back this year again

Most European countries will turn their clock back one hour on the night of October 25 this year, and as the Srna learned from the EU Council headquarters the deadline for this body to make a decision on whether to abolish summer and winterclock variations by 2021 is still in force.

"At the moment, there are no new proposals or discussions within the EU Council, and the German presidency currently does not plan to raise this issue until the end of its mandate," the press service of the EU Council told Srna agency.

In 2019, the European Parliament adopted the proposal of the European Commission on ending winter and summer time variations until 2021, but the final decision is made by the European Council.

Beside Europe, seasonal time changesare currently taking place in most countries of North and Central America, as well as in some other countries and areas in the world.

Iceland, Russia and Belarus will not return to winter time on the night of October 25.
