TRIAL ON AUGUST 31st

Bail refused, Vidak remains in detention

The Basic Court in Kotor has rejected a request for a 20-year-old Sara Vidak from Belgrade , to be removed from custody with a fine of 10,000 Euros.

Momirka Tesic, the judge of the Basic Court in Kotor, said in the explanation of the decision that there are circumstances that indicate that Vidak could escape, if she is released, since she is a citizen of Serbia, but also Canada, where her aunt lives, while her parents and brother, live and work in Turkey.

The explanation states that Vidak visits her parents every month and learns   Turkish language there, but that she lives in Belgrade where she studies two faculties, and comes to Montenegro annually.

"The Court finds that the circumstances mentioned indicate that, irrespective of the offered bail by the defendant’s attorney  and the amount of the bail itself, there is a justified fear that the defendant in the case of being in freedom would escape or conceal and thereby omit the continued conduct of the criminal proceedings and therefore the bail is not accepted ", states the explanation.

The trial is scheduled for August 31st , and it will be led by judge Momirka Tesic.
