Becic to urgently convene a session so that we can elect Prosecutorial Council (TS)

The Parliamentary Club ‘’Crno na bijelo’’ called on the President of the Parliament of Montenegro Aleksa Becic to urgently convene a session of the Parliament with the first item on the agenda - the vote on the Prosecutorial Council.

"Pandora's papers have once again irrefutably shown why an absolute reform of the Prosecutor's Office is necessary, so that, like many scandals so far, it does not end up in drawers. It is high time that, as a government, we act responsibly towards the citizens of Montenegro and fulfill the promises we gave during the pre-election campaigns, which refer to the long-awaited changes and reforms of the prosecutor's office, so that many scandals that have shaken Montenegro for decades get the epilogue they deserve," said the parliamentary club ‘’Crno na bijelo’’.

According to the Club of Deputies of ‘’Crno na bijelo’’, any prolongation of the vote on the new Prosecutorial Council would mean that someone is consciously blocking Montenegro on its European path and obstructing the fight against organized crime and corruption.

"Here is an opportunity for other colleagues from the ruling majority to show that their priority is not functions and the fight for seats. We once again call on the President of the Parliament to schedule a session of the Parliament of Montenegro without delay in order to vote for a new Prosecutorial Council," GP URA said in a statement.
