TO SAVE ECOLOGICAL MONTENEGRO

Protesters requested dismissal of ElvirKlica

Gathered in a civil protest to save ecological Montenegro, protesters sent to the competent authorities 10 requests, including the request to dismiss the National Parks Director (NPCG) ElvirKlica because of the catastrophic situation in the National Parks, as well as to punish those responsible for environmental destruction.

The civil protest for the salvation of ecological Montenegro, symbolically commemorating the 28th anniversary of the adoption of the Zabljak Declaration, ended at the Roman Square in Podgorica.
VlatkoKaric from the Non-Aligned Civic Movement cited ten requests. They demanded the adoption of a law defining ecological Montenegro as a priority direction for the country's development.

"Resolving the ecocide in Pljevlja, declaring Sinjajevina a national nature park and abandoning the intention to turn it into a military training ground, addressing ecological black spots," Karic said.
Protesters also demanded the adoption of an act on the protection of the Zeta, Cijevnaand Moraca rivers, as well as the suspension of construction of all mini hydropower plants and the abolition of subsidies for this purpose.
"To remediate the devastated Tara riverbed, to protectthe Adriatic Sea from all forms of devastation, to determine responsibility for the destruction of the environment and to dismiss the NPCG Director ElvirKlica due to the catastrophic situation in the National Parks," Karic said.

Ozone director AleksandarPerovic said that Montenegrin citizens can expect a different autumn.
"An autumn reminiscent of spring in some other areas.Autumn that will bring us scents we have long forgotten about, scents of better, ecological Montenegro,”Perovic said.
