MULIC ABOUT FLOODS

Situation better, but the danger is not over

The hydrological situation in Montenegro is much better this morning, but far from being past the danger or turning to regular workregime, said the Director General of the Emergency Management Directorateof the Ministry of the Interior, MirsadMulic.

He told TVCG's Jutarnji Program that they would continue to monitor the situation and be fully prepared to react if needed.

"I believe the uncertainty of yesterday will be replaced by a quieter day, with space for the remediation, and for citizens in the endangered area to prepare for a new wave as meteorologists announce rainfall in the coming days, but with less intensity, soI believe there will be no need for that, "Mulic said.

He said that yesterday they had a communication with their Albanian colleagues, who said that they did not discharge water from the Drimhydroelectric power plant, which is encouraging.

"We have additionally warned the Ulcinj services to monitor the situation on the ground and the water level of Bojana. We have a more favorable situation and I believe that at the moment, the risk of flooding in the coastal area of Skadar Lake and Bojana area is minimized or does not exist," Mulicsaid.

Heavy rains, he says, have also caused traffic problems due to large amounts of water on the roads and landslides:

Mulic believes they can cope with all the challenges that have arisen after heavy rainfall.Citizens, he says, have cooperated well.

"It is very important that citizens, if they have a problem report it to the competent services at number 123 or 112," Mulic appealed, urging citizens to follow the recommendations of the authoritiets.
