DISCUSSION ON THE CRISIS IN BIH

Izetbegovic intends to meet with Vucic

The President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegovic confirmed that he intends to meet with the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic to discuss the political crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"We have not yet precisely arranged a meeting. There are resistances to my going to that meeting but I will go to any meeting that can prevent a bad scenario and if I can influence things to calm down and go in the right direction," Izetbegovic told Federation of BiH Television (FTV) last night.

Asked whether the meeting would be in Banja Luka, Belgrade or Sarajevo, Izetbegovic stated that it did not matter to him.

"I will not lose the crown if I go to Belgrade. I intend to talk and achieve what I said, so that there is no conflict, so that we understand each other better, so that we can coordinate our interests," said the SDA leader.

He added that BiH would be "almost a normal country" at the door of the EU and NATO if it were not for the policies of the Serbian member of the Presidency of BiH Milorad Dodik and his Alliance of Independent Social Democrats.

BiH Presidency Chairman Zeljko Komsic opposes the meeting between Izetbegovic and Vucic.

"I told him not to do that," said Komsic.

Member of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Denis Becirovic from the Social Democratic Party of BiH also believes that Izetbegovic would make a big mistake by going to the meeting in Belgrade.

The representative of our party, Sabina Ćudić, said that by going to the meeting with Vučić, Izetbegović would "humiliate and banalize the institutions of the state of BiH as much as Dodik".
