There are 7,200 migrants in Montenegro since the beginning of the year

Since the beginning of the year, more than 7,200 migrantshave been registered in Montenegro, who have registered and continued their journey towards countries of the European Union (EU), said the head of the International Office

Organization for Migration (IOM) ,DusicaZivkovic.

Speaking in the Morning program of Radio and Television of Montenegro (RTCG), she said that human trafficking is a problem of all states that are located on the migrant route.

"This is not only a problem for Montenegro it is a challenge that we all face. We can't just look at it from the angle of Montenegro. Migration is likeriver, it flows through all the countries of the region on its way to the EU, " Zivkovicnoted.

According to her a recent action in which more people were arrested for human trafficking shows that our police are adequately fighting against all activities in the field of illegal migration, especially human trafficking.

"More than 7,200 migrantshave been registered in Montenegro since the beginning of the year, who passed through our country, registered and continued their way, whether towards BiH, or towards Serbia, in any case towards the EU.Few asylum seekers stay longer in Montenegro. ", Zivkovicsaid.

She has explained that citizens should be informed that helping the migrants is a crime.
